Getting To BackHome

Depending on your preferred mode of transport, it can take anywhere between 60 minutes (by express train and taxi) to 2 hours (by train and bus/taxi), depending on the time of day. We’ve outlined some tips on travel on our Location page.

If you made your booking directly with us, simply inform us on the new dates of your stay at least 24 hours before your planned arrival. Your new booking dates will be subject to availability. Any modifications made less than 24 hours will be considered a cancellation.
If you cancel or modify your booking less than 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a penalty fee of one night’s stay.
If you have booked your stay through a separate website like Hostelworld, Hostelbookers or Agoda, your booking deposits will usually be forfeited by the website. Please contact them directly for any clarification.
If you booked your stay directly on our website and have given us less than 24 hours notice, the payment made is non refundable.

Yes, we offer a package rate for group reservations. This is subject to the number of guests and number of nights. You will get the full details when you email us.
9 persons and above will be considered a group reservation.
Yes, but reservations made online will not be eligible for our special deals.
For a group reservation, cancellation has to be made at least 7 days before your arrival date.
Luggage And Storage
Yes, complimentary individual lockers are provided in our rooms. However, you’re required to have your own padlock.
From September 2012 onwards, we provide storage lockers for your bags while you travel. Until then, you will have to take your luggage with you.
Our check-out time is at 12pm noon, and our check-in time is at 3.00pm. Early arrivals may store their luggage with us, free of charge. You can also utilise our numerous facilities whilst waiting for the rooms.
Please note that there will be no manager on duty between 12am and 7am. If you’re arriving at BackHome between these times, please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll try our best to assist you.
You will need a valid passport to check in, or an I.C if you are Malaysian. Anyone without valid identification will not be allowed to check in.
Rates and (Non-)Discounts!
There are no hidden charges. However, we charge a RM10 deposit per person upon checking-in. This fee is to cover against any damage to the property that may be incurred. Your deposit will be refunded to you upon check-out.
BackHome does not provide discounts; not even for long-term stays. Our rates reflect the healthy demand for rooms, so book yours quickly!
We price our beds according to demand and availability. If there are limited beds, our rates do go up slightly.
Kids, and Friends
We normally do not encourage children below the age of 12, because of safety and security concerns.
However, we do encourage families to travel together. If you book a whole dorm to yourselves, it should be fine. You will have to be responsible for your children’s safety, and that Backhome will not take responsibility for any mishaps or accidents that might occur.
If you plan to bring young children, we strongly recommend that you drop us an email for the necessary preparations to be made.
For safety and security reasons, we do not allow any additional guests to stay in a room with a specified capacity.
One blanket is provided free for every guest. Towels and extra blankets are available for rent at RM5.00 each.
For now, we do not offer any airport transfer services. We recommend for guests to use the airport taxi services instead as it is affordable.
Breakfast usually consists of toast, jam, cereal, oats and milk.
No. Currently, our dorms do not come with attached toilets.
